Arvida's illustrious legacy in Weston was capped by its most imaginative project, the Savanna Commons leisure island complex, which earned our firm five prestigious awards from the Builders Association of South Florida in 2000. An island complex of staggering beauty and various components for socializing and relaxation, Savanna Commons is at the heart of an upscale community with 1,000 single-family homes. Aquatic amenities include competition pool, family pool, wading pool, activity play area, and slide tower pool. Other recreational elements include an 18-hole miniature golf course, playgrounds, outdoor inline hockey rink, multipurpose success field, and softball field. The Island-themed community clubhouse includes a café, sundries shop, multipurpose room, catering kitchen, arts and crafts room, computer lab, administrative offices, and restrooms for the building and the pools. Our interior design "tropical island-sawgrass" theme is reflected in the images of palms and waves in tile patterns, fabrics, artwork, lighting accessories, and even building signage. Respect for and homage to the environmental culture is embodied by the artwork collection acquired from local Florida artists. Our five "Best 2000 Awards" included Architecture, Builder's Overall Product, Land Planning, Pool Design, and Best of Show Finalist.
